YOU GO GIRLIE!i saw this picture on one of the presentation slides during today's tutorial, and fell in love with it. the presenting group labeled it 'rosie the riveter', and i went to google the image out using that. apparently this girl represents the first female workers who had to work because the men were out fighting, in world war II. she is now a famous feminist icon in the US. but anyway if you wiki this girl out, you'll find that the painter did not have any rosie in mind when he painted it, but rather the model was someone else. the association was made only a few years later. yes, all this was some sort of propaganda thing. but it worked, cos if i'm not wrong 20 million womenfolk joined the workforce (there was even a song for this rosie the riveter, who's fictional btw. go wiki it to read more). not bad huh.
the picture seems to scream, "who needs 'em men, huh!"
haha.
imo, an extra suggestion for any future costume parties, this.
